Welcome friends to our 2025 botanical-themed Block of the Month (BOM)! We’re so excited about this design that we couldn’t keep it a secret like last year’s BOM. We just knew that you’d want to see the finished quilt in all of its botanical glory before sewing it over the next year.
The way this will work is that subscribers of The Cutting Table will get a new block each month. If you’re already a subscriber, great! Check your inbox or right here on the website at the beginning of each month for the new block.
If you haven’t subscribed yet, you can try it completely for FREE with code Try4Free. Subscribers get access to all past and future content, so you can even make last year’s BOM if you’re feeling motivated!
This year, each month’s issue is based on one plant. This sampler quilt uses all Suzy Quilts PURE Signature Solids, however, with the fabric requirements listed below, you can pick whatever colors you like best.
For those of you who enjoy sewing with yarn-dyed woven fabric, my newest collection, Wildflower Wovens, will be hitting stores at the end of January, and in my opinion, this quilt would look amazing in them. 😉 You could even mix some of the wovens in with the Signature Solids! That’s a great way for a newbie to dip their toes into the world of sewing with a new fabric substrate.

2025 Block of the Month Fabric Requirements
One of the great things about Suzy’s new Wildflower Wovens is their width — they all have a 57" width of fabric (WOF), which means you can get even more pieces out of every strip!
To celebrate the new line, we’re excited to provide the overall fabric requirements for the BOM for both 42" WOF and 57" WOF!
42" WOF
As I mentioned above, the sample quilt uses PURE Signature Solids by Suzy Quilts for Art Gallery Fabrics. The colors used are Hemlock, Snapdragon, Spiced, Pistachio, Matcha, Queen Bee, Poppy, and Velvet for Colors 1-8 and Pearl for the Background. Due to the nature of the block units, solids or non-directional prints are suggested.
The fabric requirements below are for making the full BOM sampler Throw quilt as designed using 42" WOF so you can plan ahead. Fabric requirements for the individual BOM blocks are included in the tutorials for each month. The Throw quilt finishes at 70" x 71".

57" WOF
For 57" WOF, the mock-up below uses Wildflower Wovens by Suzy Quilts for Art Gallery Fabrics in Rainstorm, Wild Rose, Zinnia, Prickly Pear, Clover, Golden Hour, Poinsettia, and Sweet Pea for Colors 1-8 and Cloud for the Background. Due to the nature of the block units, solids or non-directional prints are suggested.

Interested in a BOM Quilt Kit?
More kits will be made over the next few weeks, but currently, you can get a kit using these Signature Solids from Sarah Made.
The Wildflower Wovens seen here are Dots in Clover and Diamonds in Poinsettia.
The Wildflower Wovens collection is designed to complement my other three collections — Duval, Evolve, and the Signature Solids. These wovens would be beautiful as clothing and bags, but I designed them specifically for quilters, so each one has a tight weave that imitates the PURE Solids’ poplin fabric from Art Gallery Fabrics. They also do not have any dobby-weave designs that involve loose threads that could fray or unravel — basically, they’re a quilter’s dream.
This 12-piece collection includes
- Five slub fabrics (that means the weft and warp yarns vary in weight)
- Four dot fabrics
- Two diamond fabrics
- One speckled fabric (It’s called Cloud, and I think it will become your new favorite background.)
All of these fabrics are reversible, and many of them look slightly different on each side.
Above is the Rose block from the BOM. It’s one of my favorite blocks. 🙂
The BOM sample quilt was longarm quilted by Trace Creek Quilting. The panto is Hint of Spring by Dawna Sanders.

That is so flipping cute!
Wonderful quilt. Looks pretty simple! I sure hope so at least.
Okay Im in! I have loved being a member of the Cutting Table. Im eager to make this quilt. Thanks for all your creativity in your very busy life.
I’m so glad to hear it!! ❤️🥰
Can’t wait to get started! Thanks for the sneak peek!
So, you have to join the cutting table in order to participate in the 2025 block of the month?
That’s right! On the first of each month you’ll get the new issue, which will include that month’s block. You can see our past issues here – https://suzyquilts.com/past-issues/ As a subscriber of The Cutting Table you would have access to all past and future issues. 🙂
Wowee!! So much inspiration!
One question…where are your fabrics made?
Wishing you warmth and peace!
The fabrics used here are all made in South Korea in a facility that is Oeko-Tex certified. 🙂
This is beautiful, Suze! I love that you previewed the quilt before the beginning of the year… I’m totally in! Quick question, will you be adding this design to your PreQuilt profile? I would love to play around with colors over the holidays, so that I’ll be ready to get started come January!
That’s a great idea!! I’ll email PreQuilt about that now. Hopefully they have it added soon.
Is there a way to find this pattern on QuiltInk?
Not at this time, but it should be added to PreQuilt soon – https://app.prequilt.com/market#suzyquilts
I am IN! LOVE This so much. The only problem is picking what colorway to do it in!! Can’t wait to dive in. Soo glad I found this community 🙂
What a beautiful design, Suzy! A Block-of-the-Month is a great alternative to sew-alongs for some quilters. I sometimes have trouble keeping the pace, but for sure can handle one block a month. Thank you for showing us the whole project and providing fabric requirements ahead of each month! This is going to be lots of fun.
Help! I am a member of the Cutting Table, but I can’t find the first block in the issue. Where can I find?
It’s in the January 2025 BOM post, which you can find here: https://suzyquilts.com/january-2025-bom/. Each monthly post will include the block instructions first, followed by the tutorial for the bonus project. Enjoy!
Hi, is this intro post available as a PDF? I am a member of The Cutting Table and am familiar with the usual formats; already downloaded the January block. Though, was hoping to have a printable with fabrics needs with correlating placements outlined in this post. I may just be missing it. Thanks!
Hi Cari, thanks for asking! I’ve just added a link to the post (just above the fabric requirements chart) to download the chart and color diagram. Hope that helps!
That’s perfect. Thanks!
Beautiful! If you want to use the same block to make a quilt, how would you calculate the fabric requirements?
Hi Alex! Glad you like it! All of the BOM blocks finish at 16″ square, so a good baby size would be 9 blocks (3×3 layout, which finishes at 48″ square), and a good throw size would be 16 blocks (4×4 layout, which finishes at 64″ square). Whatever size quilt you decide to make, just follow the block instructions to make that many blocks. You can find the fabric requirements and instructions for the January block here (the post is available to all subscribers of The Cutting Table). Future blocks appear in each monthly issue.
is the pattern freely available or is a purchase required ? – if free : how can i get to the pattern.
Hi Monique! The pattern is exclusive to subscribers of The Cutting Table and will be released as a Block of the Month (BOM) throughout 2025. If you haven’t subscribed yet, you can try it completely for FREE with code Try4Free here: here. Subscribers get access to all past and future content, so you can even make last year’s BOM if you’re feeling motivated!
I’m excited to get started. I love the quilting, too. What design is the quilting?
Isn’t it lovely? The quilting pantograph is Hint of Spring by Dawna Sanders.
Hi! I’m excited to try this quilt out as a Quilting Newbie I love the step by step instructions! I can’t get the pdf for fabric requirements to open? Would you recommend washing the fabric beforehand?
I’m so glad you’re excited! Here’s a direct link to the PDF. Let me know if you’re still having trouble – https://suzyquilts.com/mp-files/thecuttingtable_bom2025_fabricrequirements.pdf/
I prefer to prewash my fabric for a couple reasons, but it’s not necessary. If you have cuts smaller than 1/4 yd. don’t prewash because you will lose too much of it to fraying and might be short when making your cuts.
I started on this quilt. I bought kit from Saramade. Made first block. It came out great. Excited to make the whole quilt.
Hi! New here. Is there a link for the alternative 12 piece collection kit?
Hey Mollie, what alternative collection kit do you mean? I want to make sure I understand. Currently you can get a kit for this version using Suzy Quilts Signature Solids here – https://sarah-made.com/product/suzy-quilts-2025-bom-quilt-kit-the-cutting-table/
I completed the January block today, and Im excited (way) to see the February block instructions. I am really enjoying membership in the Cutting Table. thank you.
I’m so happy to hear that!
I love the BOM! I love the colors also, but want to consider other color ways. Are they available anywhere? I can’t wait to start!
I’m so glad you like it! I can work up a few more color mockups, but in the meantime you could play with changing colors through PreQuilt. We’ve just uploaded the 2025 BOM! Yippee! https://app.prequilt.com/market/suzyquilts/2025-bom If you need help understanding PreQuilt, check out this blog post.
Is there a kit using Susie’s Wildflower wovens?
They are currently in the works! I know Sewing Arts is putting one together as is Sarah Made. Also since most of our shop partners are carrying this collection, if you reach out to any of them I’m sure they would put a kit together for you, plus you could use your discount for being a subscriber of The Cutting Table!
So beautiful! Great idea. Bonus for being a Cutting Table member!
