Modern Sewciety Podcast: I’m on it!

Modern-Sewciety-Podcast

Have you ever met someone and just had that instant connection? No work. No awkward pauses. Just like-minded souls colliding and mutually realizing that this thing that's happening is unique and fun and super special??

Well I had that friendship spark when I met Stephanie from Modern Sewciety. Within a few minutes I was laughing, she was laughing and if multiple state borders and miles of highway weren't blocking us, I'm sure we'd be holding hands and skipping off into the sunset.

(Sadly she's a Florida girl and I live in Chicago.)

But here's the great thing about Steph, I'm pretty sure she has that instant connection with most everybody who joins her on her podcast. I'm positive that if you were to ask any one of her guests they would all say the same thing, "Yes, of course Steph and I are BFFs. She makes me feel super special and laughs at all my jokes!"

And I'm trying reeeeal hard to crack a lot of jokes 😉

Stephanie was kind enough to invite me on her podcast a few weeks ago, and just yesterday the show went live. The recorded portion is over an hour, but she and I chatted on the phone for over three – I'm tell'n ya, we are soulmates! On the podcast we talk about high school boyfriends, optimizing websites, Instagram, designing quilts and tons of other SUPER interesting topics. You don't want to miss it!

If you haven't heard of Modern Sewciety, it's a podcast produced by Stephanie Kendron that  focuses on the stories behind the sewing. With thousands of beautiful fabrics, patterns, books, blogs and designers filling our wonderful sewing industry with inspiration, it's easy to forget that most of those things have a story behind them.

Stephanie gets to the heart of those stories by interviewing quilters, authors, bloggers, designers and listeners of the podcast. With almost 100 episodes in her podcast archives, Steph has interviewed most of the top names in the quilting industry.

So far Stephanie has recorded and produced Modern Sewciety solely on her own. But like most worthwhile ventures, her podcast takes time and resources. In order for her to continue producing and growing this phenominal podcast, Steph is hosting a pledge drive.

The money from the pledge drive will go to new equipment that will allow Stephanie to record and broadcast from sewing venues such as QuiltCon, Quilt Market and Sew Pro, and additionally help with the overall cost it takes to record, edit and produce a quality podcast.

You can donate to Modern Sewciety any time, but this specific pledge drive is from August 27 - September 3, 2016.

Happy sewing and thanks for stopping by! xo

Suzy, I just listened to the podcast yesterday as I was piecing the backing to a quilt. I could sense the new bond you had with “Steph”…I know I can’t call her that since I don’t really know her, but in my mind I do! I’ve been listening the Sewceity podcasts for just a few months and have enjoyed them a lot. Don’t tell “Steph”, but I had her pictured as a blonde and was completely blown away when I saw her photo! Now I have some imagery I have to get re-aligned! So glad she introduced us to you…you are a master!

That is just so true when you’re talking to her! She certainly knows how to make a girl feel special 🙂 Can’t wait to listen to this later this week when I’m mindlessly cutting and chain piecing!
