The New Horizons quilt pattern is now available! The pattern includes fabric requirements and instructions to make a multi-color version and a limited-color version, as seen here.
The limited-color version is made with just one identical block set on point, so even though you will be cutting and sewing some side-setting triangles, this quilt pattern truly is beginner friendly.
To cut and sew the side-setting triangles, we use the same technique as in the Thrive quilt pattern. You can see details of that in this blog post from the Thrive sew along.
My friend Caitlyn made this limited-color version using Charley Harper fabric from Fabricworm. A fabric kit to make this quilt will be available at fabricworm.com on June 11 when the pattern is available.
Not only is Caitlyn an amazing sewist, she's also a baby whisperer. Look at sweet Joanna sound asleep in her arms. 🙂
Quilts in the Wild!
These next New Horizons quilts are brought to you by some of the sewists who made this New Horizons pattern. Aren't they inspiring?
Catalina, being the fabulous over-achiever that she is, made not just one quilt, but two! In addition to the limited-color version seen below, you can check out her scrappy baby quilt in this multi-color blog post.
Monochromatic Baby Quilt
I love the effect of the stripes and print fabric mixed with these monochromatic solids! So pretty, Claire!
Summer Snow Quilt
Even though it's June, it's never too early to start planning winter holiday quilts – especially if you want to give some away as gifts. Nuria of Fabric Stork made this festive throw quilt and is also offering it as a kit in her shop!

Looking forward to your new pattern release this week – trying to tidy my space & pull fabrics.

I’m not able to find the fabric kit on Fabric Worm. Am I just too early?

Love the quilted soft seat cube!
How large is each finished square in the New Horizons quilt? Thank you.
Each block is made with 4 – 6 1/2″ unfinished squares, so the finished block size is 12″.

A finished block is 12″.
What fabric did you use for the backing on the pink/orange Fabricworm kit? I looks throughout their web page and couldn’t find it! Thank you 🙂
It’s called Tuesday Marigold by Alison Glass for Andover. Fabricworm has a little bit left here – https://www.fabricworm.com/alison-glass-sun-print-2021-tuesday-marigold.html
I’ve ordered material for the New horizons warm quilt. The material arrived but I can’t match the Color’s from the picture on the pattern. Any ideas
Hi! If you haven’t rearranged them, the colors arrived in order from 1-20. If you have, there is a list in color order on the kit page here https://suzyquilts.com/shop/new-horizons-quilt-kit-warm/.
