Patchwork Party Crown Supplies
- Fabric - Option 1: To use a single fabric for the exterior, you’ll need one fat eighth (9" x 21") or 5" x 20 1/2" piece. Option 2: To create a patchwork exterior, you’ll need enough fabric to sew together a piece measuring approximately 5" x 20 1/2". We used half-square triangles (HSTs) for our patchwork, as detailed in Step 1 below. To do the same, you’ll need 5 - 4" squares each of two fabrics (Colors 1 and 2).
Lining fabric: One fat eighth or 5" x 20 1/2" piece
Batting or foam stabilizer: 1 - 5" x 20 1/2" piece
Ties: 2 - 2 1/4" x 17" pieces of fabric OR 2 - 17"-long pieces of 1"-wide grosgrain ribbon (see Step 4 or the pattern for more details)
Optional Embellishments: Perle cotton thread or embroidery floss, pom poms, felt or other appliqué fabrics, medium-weight fusible interfacing (Pellon 931TD) (helpful for appliqué)
