* The Fabric Requirements give you the variety of fabrics you will need to match the color layouts on pages 7-13 of the pattern. For example, the Wall Hanging uses three colors for the Garden blocks, so you will need 3 FQs or 3 FEs (one in each color) to match the suggested layout.
However, the quilt can be made with less fabric if you use fewer colors or cut your pieces from scraps. You should be able to cut 14-16 Template B pieces from a FE and 28-32 Template B pieces from a FQ as long as you’re varying the base widths between 3 1/2" and 5 1/2" as instructed. You can adjust your fabric needs using these amounts based on the number of fabrics you choose to use.
Use your scraps! This quilt is meant to look like wildflowers growing in a meadow. By grouping scraps by color, you will still be able to see the flowers bursting to the forefront inside of the garden. Because these blocks are cut to be wonky, they are each unique. Beauty in chaos!
