Ho! Ho! Ho! Hello! We're back with a fresh new list of DIY Holiday Gift tutorials for 2023. We were so busy writing and designing projects for you, we forgot to put together a list last year. But if you missed our top 10 gift list from 2021, you don't want to miss it. It's full of free, mostly fast, tutorials that all make fantastic gifts all year round (not just for the holidays.)
A lot of these tutorials can be found in our Holiday category and ALL of them can be found on the Blog. We have so many tutorials and articles here at Suzy Quilts, we try our best to categorize them so you can easily zip around and find what you're looking for. I hope this round up list helps too!

Fly Away Quilted Stocking Tutorial
This pattern is a modern take on the classic Birds in Flight or Birds in the Air quilt block with some of the triangles or "birds" appearing to fly away. Once you see both stocking designs together, we knew you'd need a whole flock!
Fabric Star Ornament
I lovingly think of these fabric star ornaments as "starballs," although that's maybe not the classiest name for these beautiful decorations. Once you get the hang of the folding and pinning method, these can be very addicting to keep making over and over — and then it will take under an hour to create each one!
There are endless color possibilities so you can tailor-make each fabric star ornament to fit the personality of the recipient! Last year I made one for my grandma in neutral colors, and she has it hanging in her kitchen window year-round — they don't have to be strictly for the holidays.

Quillow (or Quilt Pillow Pocket)
This simple tutorial will show you the best way to make a quillow, or quilt pillow pocket, using the Adventureland quilt pattern. Have you ever heard of a quillow? Until a few months ago I hadn't! A quillow is an added pocket sewn to the back of a quilt. By folding your quilt into this pocket you can easily transport it or even use it as a simple pillow. How fun, right?
Below are a lot of pictures because if you haven't heard of a quillow, you might need a clear visual...
Holiday Felt Garlands
If the Garland quilt pattern has you feeling festive, now is the perfect time to make your own DIY holiday felt garlands! In this tutorial, you'll learn how to make one garland using felt poms and one made with felt sheets cut using the same improv technique from the Garland quilt pattern.
These quick, easy, and fun projects will add some homemade cheer to your decorations — and both can be made in a just few hours. Make these cute projects quickly so you have more time to enjoy the holidays with your friends and family!
Quilted Postcards
This handmade quilted postcard tutorial is not only unique, it's a TON of fun! These postcards are fast to make, utterly adorable to send and you don't even need to wrap them because they are mailable all on their own! Yes, you heard that right. You can actually stick on a stamp and send a quilted postcard through the mail. I tested this with success using USPS just to make sure.

This fabric scrap rope bowl tutorial is simple to follow and will show you how to make a beautiful decoration using leftover fabric! As crafters and sewers, having a stash of scrap fabric is inevitable. Most of us squirrel our fabric away, no matter how big or small.

Patchwork Tree Skirt
With the holidays quickly approaching, you may be thinking about what to wear for the holidays. For me, I usually opt for the stretchiest pair of leggings I can find paired with a chic oversized sweater, perfect for maximized feasting capacity. But have you thought about what your tree will wear? You heard me - your tree needs something trendy, something modern, something festive. Your tree needs... a patchwork tree skirt!!
Patchwork Storage Cube
If you're like me, you own some configuration of a cube bookcase, cubby shelf or square bin organizer. (It's so popular it goes by many names.) After all, what's not to love about its simple boxy design perfect for cube bins that can hide (I mean... store) all your clutter? This patchwork storage cube tutorial brings a new level of sophistication to this functional piece.
Quilted Table Runner
We have a lot of table runner tutorials here on the blog. You can also turn a lot of our quilt patterns into table runners simply by making just part of the quilt! Here you can find a tutorial on turning the Rocksteady pattern into a table runner. Change it up for the warmer months and make one based on the Butterfly Garden pattern!
